I'm very disappointed. This software would not install at all on my Intel-based Aluminum iMac running Leopard 10.5.6. I was able to get it to install on a PowerPC G5 running Leopard 10.5.6, however, it is barely usable due to constant crashes.
In fact the manual is called "Photoshop Elements 6 for Mac - The Missing Manual." That, to me, is a scam. Nowhere does it say that directions are not included. Unfortunately this item does not come with a manual so I was completely unable to use it without purchasing an additional book, priced at [.]., with directions about how to use it. That information should be clearly stated somewhere on the site.
The help that is included is pretty good for explaining how to use the specific commands, but I needed more help in understanding how to work with layers and some of the effects. Once I understood how to do some of my projects, I was off and running. I have a macbook and needed a graphics package, but didn't want to pay hundreds of dollars. I ended up searching the Internet for help (entered the product name and what I wanted to do) and got the step-by-step help I needed. I think it is a pretty powerful product considering the price. I caught this on a good sale, and I am so glad I bought it. It was a little confusing for me at first, but after a few hours I was really pleased with how much I could do.
I use this for editing my comic with. This came pre-installed with my computer I bought earlier this year. If you're a artist wanting to improve your skills in photo editing or picture manipulation this is a good starting point.It's worth the money for the product. The photos I have manipulated using this turned out great also. I'd always wanted to use the Photoshop program and this is a excellent beginning tool. It's very easy to use and there are many free tutorials online.
Save your money. Once again, Photoshop Elements has come up with a true piece of junk Try to resize a photo (using "Resize"). It stays the same size.
